Welcome to LivinginNL.nl. We provide an automated roadmap, comparison tools, and a free renewal-reminder service to help you navigate your move to and life in the Netherlands. By submitting your details for reminders or using our tools, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.
1. Scope of service: information and referrals
LivinginNL.nl is a free information platform. Our roadmap, comparison tools, and reminder service are designed to help you organise your relocation and household admin.
- Referral only: we act as a referrer. We provide comparison tables and links to third-party partners.
- No contractual party: we are not a party to any agreement you sign with these partners. Your relationship with them is governed solely by their terms. We do not handle your payments, nor guarantee their service.
2. The renewal reminder service — your responsibility
Our reminder service lets you submit a contract category, supplier, and renewal or contract-end date so we can email you reminders ahead of key dates. This is a free, automated, best-effort convenience and nothing more.
- You are responsible for your own deadlines. The legal obligation to cancel, renew, or give notice on time rests entirely with you, the contract holder. We do not assume that responsibility on your behalf.
- No guarantee of delivery or timing. Reminders may be delayed, may fail to send, may be filtered as spam, or may not arrive at all. You must not rely on our reminder as your sole method of tracking a deadline.
- Notice periods are your responsibility. Many Dutch contracts (energy, internet, mobile) require around one month's notice to cancel. While we aim to remind you ahead of typical notice windows, you must confirm the exact notice period and deadline in your own contract.
- Accuracy of your data. Reminders are based solely on the dates you give us. If you enter an incorrect date, the reminder will be wrong. We do not verify your dates against your actual contracts.
- No liability for missed deadlines. We are not liable for any missed cancellation, unwanted automatic renewal, continued charges, early-termination fee, or any other loss arising from a deadline you did not meet — regardless of whether a reminder was sent or received.
3. No financial or legal advice (Wft disclaimer)
To comply with the Dutch Financial Supervision Act (Wet op het financieel toezicht – Wft):
- Non-licensed status: LivinginNL.nl is not a licensed financial advisor or intermediary.
- Objective information: we provide general, objective comparison information, not personalised advice. We do not tell you which service to buy; we provide data for you to make your own informed choice.
- Verification requirement: you are responsible for double-checking all terms, rates, and conditions directly with the provider before signing any contract.
4. Affiliate disclosure
- Commissions: we may receive referral fees or commissions from partners when you click a link or sign a contract through our platform, at no extra cost to you.
- Lead generation: our role is limited to lead generation; we do not provide intermediation services that require an AFM license.
5. Limitation of liability
- Information "as is": Dutch government policy and municipal rules change frequently. We are not liable for inaccuracies or for any missed deadlines on your part.
- Third-party performance: we are not responsible for the acts or failures of any third-party partner we refer you to. Disputes must be handled directly with that provider.
- No indirect damages: we are not liable for indirect losses, such as financial penalties from Dutch authorities or providers.
6. Intellectual property
The logic, arrangement, and flow of tasks in our roadmap are protected by Dutch Copyright (Auteurswet) and Database Rights (Databankenwet). You may not copy, scrape, or reuse our structure to build a competing business.
7. Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes shall be submitted to the competent court in the district where LivinginNL.nl is registered.

Who uses your data?

What data do we use?
Depending on how you interact with us: name, email address, and — for the reminder service — your contract category, supplier name, and contract start/end or renewal dates. We collect these solely to send you renewal reminders you have opted into.
What do we use your data for?
- To send the renewal reminders you have explicitly opted in to.
- To provide relevant information and referrals.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We only process your data with your explicit consent, given when you tick the consent box on the reminder form.
How long do we keep your data?
We keep your data only as long as necessary for the reminder service and as required by law. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.
Where do we store your data?
We process and store your data within the European Economic Area (EEA), including through our email service provider used to send reminders.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, object to, restrict, port, or delete your data, and to withdraw consent or unsubscribe at any time using the link in any reminder email. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below. You may also contact the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
Cookies
We use functional, analytical, and tracking/affiliate cookies (including Daisycon/Linehub and Awin affiliate cookies) to assign referral commissions and improve your experience.
